ἡ πρώτη ἐπιστολή: περὶ ἐμαυτοῦ

χαίρετε!

ἐγώ Λέανδρος εἰμι καὶ σήμερον βούλομαι λαλεῖν ὑμῖν ὀλίγον χρονον. αὕτη ἐστίν ἡ πρώτη ἐπιστολή μου καὶ γράφειν ἐθέλω ἵνα τὴν ἑλληνικήν γλῶσσαν ἀσκέω! μέλλω οὖν διαλέγειν ὑμῖν περὶ ἐμαυτοῦ…

ὥς ἤδη λέλεγμαι, τὸ ὄνομά μοι Λέανδρος ἐστίν καὶ τεσσαρακοντάς ἔτη ἔχω. καὶ διδάσκαλος καὶ μαθητής τῆς γλώσσης ἑλληνικῆς εἰμι. ἀρέσκει μοι σφόδρα μανθάνειν τὴν γλῶσσαν ταύτην!

ἐγώ ἐν τῇ πόλει Βαρκινῶνι οἰκῶ μετά τῆς γυναικός μου. τὸ ὄνομά αὐτῇ Ἑλένη ἐστίν. ἡμεῖς οὖν ἐσμὲν ἡ Ἑλένη καὶ ὁ Λέανδρος. ἡμεῖς μὲν οἰκοῦμεν ἐν τῇ οἰκία ἡμῶν. ἐγώ μέντοι αὐτός οὐκ ἐκεῖ ἐν τῇ Βαρκινῶνι ἐγενήθην, ἀλλὰ ἐν ἄλλῃ πόλει ὀνόματι Λείκαστρον. ἡ γάρ πόλις αὓτη ἀποικία τῶν Ῥωμαῖων ἦν καὶ τό ἔθνος τῶν ἐκείνων ἀνθρώπων Κοριελτάυβι καλέουσιν.

καλώς, νῦν δὲ οὐδέν ἄλλον λέγειν ἐθέλω, τὸ οὖν τέλος ἐστιν τῆς ἐμῆς πρώτης ἐπιστολῆς. οἴμοι, δῆλόν ἐστίν ὅτι πολλάς ἁμαρτίας πεποίηκα!

γράφε μοι λόγον τινά περὶ σεαυτοῦ. τί ὄνομα σοι ἐστιν; ποῦ οἰκεῖς; εἰπέ μοι, εἰ ἐθέλεις!
